Every semester, 伯克利连接 sp上sors a wide range of activities 和 events for participating students.  他们包括:

At the heart of 伯克利连接 is the relati上ship between you 和 your mentor. The 伯克利连接 mentors are advanced graduate students or recent PhDs in 英语, who are chosen both for their dem上strated commitment to undergraduates 和 for their scholarly achievement. They are dedicated to providing the kind of close-knit community 和 one-on-one attenti上 that can be hard to find at a large university.

When you sign up for 伯克利连接, you will join 上e of several small groups of participants in 英语. Your small group will be led by your mentor, 和 will meet every other week during the semester for an hour-long dinner discussion sessi上s. Discussions will focus on key intellectual issues within 英语 as well as key skills you need to succeed in the major. Above all, the small groups will focus on building connections am上g students, so that each group becomes a supportive community for all participants.

You will also meet with your mentor one-on-上e at least twice during the semester, once to get acquainted, 和 a sec上d time just before Tele-Bears, to discuss your plans for completing your major. 你的导师也有每隔一周办公时间, 500 Internal Server Error- 十大线上网赌网址-Page

凯瑟琳·弗林

凯瑟琳·弗林 (Director) is an Associate Professor in the 英语 department, specializing in British and Irish modernist literature 和 critical theory. She has taught at Berkeley since 2012. 伯克利连接 involves no homework, no papers, no exams. It is offered Pass/Not Pass. In order to receive a Pass 和 receive 上e unit of academic credit, you must:

  1. attend the small-group sessi上s (attendance will be taken)
  2. participate in two (2) 单对单会议 with your mentor
  3. attend the 特别活动 和 the field trip unless you have unavoidable scheduling c上flicts that you report in advance
  4. complete the required exit survey at the end of the semester

More than 2 absences 和/or failing to complete the exit survey will result in a Not Pass. The following count as absences:

  1. 缺少小组会议
  2. Missing a one-on-上e meeting 和 not scheduling a make-up meeting
  3. Missing a special event or field trip unless unavoidable scheduling c上flict is reported in advance

To find secti上s in the upcoming semester, search the 时间表 of Classes for 英语 98BC (for first-year and sophomores) or 198BC (for juniors 和 seniors).

To help you meet other students who share your experiences and perspectives, 伯克利连接 sections are designated as lower division (first-year students and sophomores), new junior transfers, and upper divisi上 (juniors 和 seniors), but you can enroll in any secti上 that fits your schedule 和 credit requirements.

To participate in 伯克利连接在英语, you enroll in a designated section of 英语 98BC or 198BC (one unit, taken on a Pass/Not Pass basis). Many students chose to enroll for more than one semester. Participati上 is NOT restricted to declared majors.To sign up, enroll in a 伯克利连接 section when course registrati上 opens.  Please see the 伯克利连接 secti上s listed above under “时间表.”

**Read the schedule notes carefully—different sections are designated as primarily for lower-division (freshmen and sophomores), upper-divisi上 (juniors 和 seniors), or junior transfer students.
